| Greetings Academy-Sherman Park Neighbors –
We care about our neighbors, yet due to the current Corona virus health crisis, many businesses and organizations are reducing hours, limiting services, or temporarily closing. It is of the utmost importance that we limit potential person-to-person exposure, practice good hygiene, and stay safe and healthy.
If you are experiencing symptoms (fever, cough, difficulty breathing), you can call the the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services at 877-435-8411 24 hours a day, seven days a week. You can also contact the City of St. Louis Department of Health at 314-657-1499 Monday–Friday, 8am–10pm, or the CDC‘s hotline at 800-232-6348.
The City of St. Louis has issued a stay at home order starting Monday, March 23rd at 6pm and has been extended until mid-May. Do not leave your home except to purchase essentials (groceries, medicine, etc.), to go to work, or to receive medical treatment. When in public, stay six feet apart from others to minimize contact and transmission.

We care about your data. See our privacy policy.
During this difficult time, we may have to practice physical distance, yet we don’t have to be unsocial. Keep your eyes open for unwanted activity on your block; check in on your neighbors from time to time, and/or spend time working on those long, forgotten home projects. We’re in this together.

| Request for Proposals Neighborhood Lot Maintenance Pilot Program
This 18-month pilot program, developed by the Mayor’s Office and Green City Coalition partners, including the Department of Parks, Recreation, and Forestry and St. Louis Development Corporation – LRA, provides contracts for neighborhood-based lawn care companies to mow and maintain vacant properties in the City. The pilot began in the latter half of the 2019 growing season when 40 people attended an information session, more than a dozen companies submitted bids, and six companies were awarded contracts.
Findings from last year have informed the approach to this growing season including: improved forms and supporting documents; process changes to improve payment times; and properties are now pre-selected vs. submitted. Clusters of vacant properties were prioritized for inclusion based on rates of requests for service related to mowing, weeding, tree trimming, and illegal dumping to provide increased attention to high-need blocks.
Proposals are due May 11, 2020, with any questions due by May 1. Contract dates are May 25 – November 1, 2020. View and download the full Request for Proposals. |
