HIP HOP: Eminem’s Father Passes Away at 67
Marshall Bruce Mathers Jr. died this week near Fort Wayne, Indiana. A family source says he suffered a heart attack at home. Eminem has made no secret of the grudge against his father for abandoning him and rapped about never meeting him in person. His songs, “My Name Is” and “Cleanin’ Out My Closet,” showed the animosity felt by Eminem towards his father. Eminem’s mother Debbie, has said that Bruce married her when he was 22 and she was 15. Two years later they had a son (Eminem). They split up shortly after. Eminem and his mom moved to Detroit to be near her family. Bruce moved to California where he had 2 other kids.
