As Ashanti made her way into the screening room at the Crosby Street Hotel on last night to watch the premiere of her new movie-musical, “Stuck,” she didn’t have a seat. A woman working the event asked another woman sitting in a “reserved row” if she could vacate her seat, as the “reserved” rows were designated for cast members and their friends and family. The woman refused and put up a fight with the usher. The usher was heard telling the woman, “We need two seats for Ashanti, who is a member of the cast.” Ashanti had no problem sitting somewhere else. “I’ll sit in the back,” Ashanti was heard saying. “I’ll sit back there. I’ve seen the movie!” Eventually, three men volunteered to move so that Ashanti could sit with her father and younger sister. Ashanti was seen graciously thanking them. The woman never moved except to allow Ashanti and her family into their seats.
