YO!: Chicago Wants Jussie Smollett to Pay for ‘Hoax’ Investigation

The city of Chicago notified Jussie’s lawyers and demanded he pay $130,106, the cost of the police overtime hours used in the investigation. If Jussie doesn’t pay, the city, in a letter, said, it, “may prosecute you for making a false statement to the city.” Chicago mayor Rahm Emanuel also advised President Trump to sit this one out. “… I take umbrage that you have a person sitting in the Oval Office who drew a moral equivalency in Virginia between those who were fighting bigotry and those who were perpetuating bigotry.” Under the law, the Chicago can actually collect 3 times the actual amount owed as a penalty — meaning around $390,000.
