The History of Black History Month

The more you know, the more you grow. I was reading up on the history of Black History Month and I learned a few things. Like that it started as a one week celebration and later became a month long celebration, and that February was chosen because Abraham Lincoln and Frederick Douglas both were born in the month of February and both are instrumental to the African American population in the U.S. I’d like to share that knowledge with you because I think we all need to read more and learn more about the things that impact our lives. Regardless of race, color, or creed, we’re all impacted by this history and the way it continues to shape our lives. Click this link and expand your knowledge.
