Canadian Hip-Hop journalist, Nardwuard, The Human Serviette, caught up with Bay Area bae Kehlani at SXSW for one of his signature one-on-ones.

In the engaging 10-minute piece, the two talked about everything from the 21-year-old singer’s early jobs, stealing groceries, performing with Stevie Wonder and her affinity for Star Wars.

“Since I was little, me and my brother weren’t allowed to watch real action movies with real guns,” she explained. “So my mom just figured if it was play violence and they were killing aliens and not people then we’d be cool.”
