OK so last week I broke the story that Samsung was close to a deal with Jay Z to buy his music streaming service Tidal. What a difference a week can make. Samsung has announced that it does not plan on making the move.
A Samsung spokesperson released a statement saying “The rumor of Samsung acquiring TIDAL is not true,”
Samsung and Jay Z are close business partners and the idea of Samsung buying Tidal has been around for about a year. I mean remember when Samsung bought one million copies of Jay Z’s album and the first million people that bought the latest Samsung phone/ tablet that year got the album free. I know you thinking what now for Tidal. Although the company faced some struggles earlier when they came out but they seem to be cool now even without the buy out. As of late Tidal was valued at over $100 million.
