“Being recognized by fellow actors is an honor of the highest order.”

Lupita was born in Mexico City, raised in Kenya and graduated from Yale’s School of Drama in 2012.  ”12 Years A Slave” was her American film debut.  According to the LA Times she was cast in “12 Years A Slave” just a few weeks before graduating from Yale. Nyong’o is also nominated for an Oscar for her role in “12 Years A Slave.” Her performance was powerful and she is a stunner in that turquoise Gucci gown.
