Monday’s explosions in Boston bombing saw several heroes after the blast. who sprung into hero mode. Doctors, everyday people, former atheltes and local fire and police departments all sprung into Hero Mode to help those in need. The noticeable man in the cowboy hat was everywhere trying to help everyone he could.
While the culprits and motives for the bloody attacks on Boston are still being investigated, we don’t need to look too hard to find inspiring examples of humans being humans to each other in the face of tragedy. Let’s celebrate the heroes of the Boston Marathon explosions:
Carlos Arredondo
Suffering from heartbreak just 9 years ago when a military team told Carlos his son was killed in Iraq. His son served in the Marines, and when he got the tragic news he torched a van and gave himself second-degree burns. Once he recovered from his injuries Carlos became a peace activist and grieved publicly. The heartache continued when Carlos lost a second son to suicide.

Even with all the grief Carlos has been through, he gave more than a helping hand in yesterday’s explosions. Photographs of him carting off an injuried marathon runner in his cowboy hat to get medical attention spread widely on the Web, folks dubbing him the Man in the Cowboy Hat.
Joe Andruzzi

Former Patroiots guard Joe Andruzzi cancer foundation was on hand for the Boston marathon, and the explosions fired, people feared the former Patriot may have been injured after the blasts. Then a picture popped up on CNN’s picture gallery of the event showing him carrying a victim in his arms. After a few hours he returned to twitter to let the world know he was OK.
The First Responder
A first responder wheeled a woman away from the carnage and smoke of the explosion and according to the tweet that was sent out by an onlooker (why wasn’t this guy helping) saying the same first responder went back to help out victims.
Dr. Vivek Shah
The doctor just finished the race when the bombs went off, and sprung right into action. According to Dr. Shah, he’s never been in combat but this was as close as he ever got to it. After helping victims after the blast he told ABC News ”In all my medical training, I have not seen things that I saw [Monday]. Everything was traumatic.”
Boston police, Firefighters & National Guard
When the bombs went off the local fire department and police flew into action along with the National guard. Putting their own safety at risk in fears of another blast at the location. And their heroism will not be forgotten.
Marathon Runners
Runners who finished the race aided other marathon runners by carrying them to get medical attention and helping them by using their own shirts as tourniquets on victims.
