Lesson Title: FREED FROM LAW THROUGH CHRIST
Printed Text: GALATIANS 3:1-14
Key Verse: Galatians 3:14 (NIV)
He redeemed us in order that the blessing given to Abraham might come to the Gentiles through Christ Jesus, so that by faith we might receive the promise of the Spirit.

UNIFYING LESSON PRINCIPLE:
To know and accept the ultimate object of faith is to make everything else subordinate, if not useless. Who or what should we place this ultimate faith in? According to Paul, faith in Jesus Christ’s sacrifice for us makes adherence to the Law of Moses foolishness.
CONCLUDING REFLECTION:
It may be easier to have a “checklist” kind of faith—where rather than contemplating what Jesus Christ means to one’s life socially, politically, and ethically, one may simply follow a list of rules and regulations. However, Paul was warning, throughout the book of Galatians, that rather than emphasizing legalism, the church should emphasize faith in Christ. Paul asserted that critical attention ought to be given to the power of the Spirit of God. We are encouraged to place our faith in Christ.
WORD POWER:
Faith – defined as “the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen” (Hebrews 11:1)
